About the Okuma App Store
OSP-P Control Sets the Stage
Our journey to the creation of the App Store began with one goal: empowering users. We laid the foundation in 2004 with the release of the OSP-P, Okuma’s open architecture control. This “openness” was (and still is) revolutionary because it allows for integration with evolving generations of software and hardware, and enables open access to peripheral equipment and even business systems. This dynamic control platform allows users to continuously create efficiencies and productivity that result in competitive advantage in the marketplace. The OSP-P control set the stage for complete user empowerment.
Partners in THINC Unleashes More Value from Okuma’s Open Platform
As Okuma users began to experience and fully appreciate the value of the open platform, they wanted more. Having the ability to fully integrate and optimize complete manufacturing systems was great, but many of you asked: could Okuma provide these systems as a turnkey package? To respond to this need, Partners in THINC was born. Today this group includes nearly 50 members representing companies that provide best-in-class technologies that work optimally with Okuma’s machines and controls. As Partners we engineer and stand behind our manufacturing system solutions that enhance users’ productivity.
Open Architecture Enables Apps: An Open Door to Productivity
With the App Store we’re delivering the full potential of what’s possible with the open architecture OSP-P control. The needs of each user are unique, and now you can develop apps to fulfill them. Here we share apps that have already been developed and tested for your immediate use. You can also work with your distributor to create custom apps, or even write your own. With apps, the door is wide open for you. It’s an open door to productivity and profitability.
